The Art Of Revival

Shannon Smith has a designers heart where even as a young girl growing up, her mother would find Shannon redesigning a whole room just to create something new and fresh. Creating a space into
something distinctly different each time, where her mother who saw this natural artist at work would jump in to join her, changing out light fixtures and helping her daughter reconstruct her bedroom.  I can picture it being a proud moment for Shannon’s mom, with such endearment. Shannon’s mother loved a beautiful home, filling it with fresh flowers and tasteful designs. Easily Shannon's success has been inspired by her childhood and by her mother's exquisite taste. Where this artist who also breeds horses, professionally tends to them, riding them every day, giving the horses proper care and devotion.  Surely, this level of artistry and quality leaves an impeccable taste of brilliance for a lifetime of sublime pleasure into the homes of her customer's as a real prized piece.

A good friend of Shannon asked her to refinish a design project for her. Shannon took on that task and never looked back. Since, she has had the pleasure to ship her designs locally, to Australia and to France -for people who have the same desire to install a fresh new appeal. Her pieces are infused with love and marked with detail.  Her repeat client base is strong, this even surprised Shannon as

she feels she completely fell into this passion, “which is not a job to her it is a labour of love”. Her favourite colours to use are of bold yellows, greens and blues, she also favours white and lighter accent pieces, both adding a strong sense of charm, elegance and beauty. Each piece has a life and energy of its own. Shannon can see this in its purest form, prior to painting, refinishing and creating show stopper furnishings. Shannon looks upon it with love and a sentimental eye.  She wonders “how old is this piece, where has it been, who owned it, she looks to its character. Then with her desire from within, it permeates coming from her love centre, her passion is stirred, she then creates. “I want to make the most stunning recreation for my customers, I picture them walking into a room, seeing something that is sentimental perhaps, where they can keep "Grandma’s dresser" for the years to come".

Refining furniture is this artist's happy place, in the summer months, she is able to paint in a studio set up by her and her husband. She has the doors and screens wide open enough to let the warm breezes of summer come through, she has her favourite music playing, setting the piece on a bench that her husband made so that she won't hurt her back.  She can hear the crickets as she paints in the evening hours. In the winter months, her home is sometimes stacked with different stages of design. She immerses herself into the task, feeling joy and contentment as she sands, paints and distresses, adding her artistic touch with a modern flair.  Always looking for new ways to develop

charming and elegant fine furniture. There have been times within her collections of works, that have such eye-popping appeal, it becomes hard to let go of.  In her letting go process, she will stage the design then she will take photographs. She becomes enamoured with her truly accomplished masterpiece, with complete satisfaction she lights up when her customers are joyed with the look that whelms them.  She is able to see how happy her restorations make all of her clients, knowing that they will love its remarkable beauty just the same. Shannon's husband is a big part of Country Revival, as he is able to pick up and deliver many of Shannon's custom work.  It is safe to say that Shannon has far surpassed the one dollar decor sponges from the 90s fashion of amateur splatter and decoupage. I certainly put whatever soaky spunge that I had accumulated down in a rather quick flash; knowing that what was needed for these restoration projects is a deep-rooted talent. Such masterful creations derive from a spirit and essence of cultivated perfection. It is fine furniture with attractive, bold hues driven by passion, each piece gives a statement and character of pure victory.
The feelings, while she creates, are of revival. "It is plain to see that this comes so natural for Shannon Smith, just as a cacoon grows into a butterfly, her customers' favourite furnishings turn from well loved, to rediscovered into a fresh and new masterpiece of delight".

"I can definitely see Shannon's Country Revival collections on any of the home designers networks, with her custom work that is rich with originality and distinction.  I am almost positive that her furnishings would enhance any staging project leaving it blooming with ambience. Shannon has a passionate soul that has an appreciation for detail and decorum. I am very sure that her style would complement any space in any home. Shannon leads with integrity and is always mindful of this aspect, carrying her projects forward; leading with this conviction.  She will always do her best and feels that "if you can do something make sure to do it right if you can't, that too may need some reflection". This artist brings excellence into her work, inspiring many homes with beauty, where these can breathe a new life, again".
