The Art Of Revival

Shannon Smith has a designers heart where even as a young girl growing up, her mother would find Shannon redesigning a whole room just to create something new and fresh. Creating a space into
something distinctly different each time, where her mother who saw this natural artist at work would jump in to join her, changing out light fixtures and helping her daughter reconstruct her bedroom.  I can picture it being a proud moment for Shannon’s mom, with such endearment. Shannon’s mother loved a beautiful home, filling it with fresh flowers and tasteful designs. Easily Shannon's success has been inspired by her childhood and by her mother's exquisite taste. Where this artist who also breeds horses, professionally tends to them, riding them every day, giving the horses proper care and devotion.  Surely, this level of artistry and quality leaves an impeccable taste of brilliance for a lifetime of sublime pleasure into the homes of her customer's as a real prized piece.

A good friend of Shannon asked her to refinish a design project for her. Shannon took on that task and never looked back. Since, she has had the pleasure to ship her designs locally, to Australia and to France -for people who have the same desire to install a fresh new appeal. Her pieces are infused with love and marked with detail.  Her repeat client base is strong, this even surprised Shannon as

she feels she completely fell into this passion, “which is not a job to her it is a labour of love”. Her favourite colours to use are of bold yellows, greens and blues, she also favours white and lighter accent pieces, both adding a strong sense of charm, elegance and beauty. Each piece has a life and energy of its own. Shannon can see this in its purest form, prior to painting, refinishing and creating show stopper furnishings. Shannon looks upon it with love and a sentimental eye.  She wonders “how old is this piece, where has it been, who owned it, she looks to its character. Then with her desire from within, it permeates coming from her love centre, her passion is stirred, she then creates. “I want to make the most stunning recreation for my customers, I picture them walking into a room, seeing something that is sentimental perhaps, where they can keep "Grandma’s dresser" for the years to come".

Refining furniture is this artist's happy place, in the summer months, she is able to paint in a studio set up by her and her husband. She has the doors and screens wide open enough to let the warm breezes of summer come through, she has her favourite music playing, setting the piece on a bench that her husband made so that she won't hurt her back.  She can hear the crickets as she paints in the evening hours. In the winter months, her home is sometimes stacked with different stages of design. She immerses herself into the task, feeling joy and contentment as she sands, paints and distresses, adding her artistic touch with a modern flair.  Always looking for new ways to develop

charming and elegant fine furniture. There have been times within her collections of works, that have such eye-popping appeal, it becomes hard to let go of.  In her letting go process, she will stage the design then she will take photographs. She becomes enamoured with her truly accomplished masterpiece, with complete satisfaction she lights up when her customers are joyed with the look that whelms them.  She is able to see how happy her restorations make all of her clients, knowing that they will love its remarkable beauty just the same. Shannon's husband is a big part of Country Revival, as he is able to pick up and deliver many of Shannon's custom work.  It is safe to say that Shannon has far surpassed the one dollar decor sponges from the 90s fashion of amateur splatter and decoupage. I certainly put whatever soaky spunge that I had accumulated down in a rather quick flash; knowing that what was needed for these restoration projects is a deep-rooted talent. Such masterful creations derive from a spirit and essence of cultivated perfection. It is fine furniture with attractive, bold hues driven by passion, each piece gives a statement and character of pure victory.
The feelings, while she creates, are of revival. "It is plain to see that this comes so natural for Shannon Smith, just as a cacoon grows into a butterfly, her customers' favourite furnishings turn from well loved, to rediscovered into a fresh and new masterpiece of delight".

"I can definitely see Shannon's Country Revival collections on any of the home designers networks, with her custom work that is rich with originality and distinction.  I am almost positive that her furnishings would enhance any staging project leaving it blooming with ambience. Shannon has a passionate soul that has an appreciation for detail and decorum. I am very sure that her style would complement any space in any home. Shannon leads with integrity and is always mindful of this aspect, carrying her projects forward; leading with this conviction.  She will always do her best and feels that "if you can do something make sure to do it right if you can't, that too may need some reflection". This artist brings excellence into her work, inspiring many homes with beauty, where these can breathe a new life, again".

Tapping For Triumphant Success

Have you ever fell out of a tree and bam, smash into the ground?  Egad, it hurts.  What about speeding down a mogul ski hill, and almost being hit by a bus?  There I was long ago on a ski trip for first-year students, a trip to Quebec City, Canada skiing Sainte- Anne. The expert skiers asked me to join them on their excursions to the moguls.   I femishly and reluctantly sputter;  "Uh Eh Uh Eh, nope, can't do it"   I was certain that my favoured, mid-level ski hill
that didn't offer insanity would get me through the last day of our trip.  Ten minutes later I was flooring down moguls somehow able to handle the bumps, in my new style of a wobbling and freaking the heck out motion.  Once I reached the bottom, I missed a turn.  It seemed to me that if I headed to the right, I would be on a ski lift, straight back on another ski run, right from where I started "Uh uh, no way."  I thought fearfully, I just wanted to run, forgetting these mogul enthusiasts.  I was flying straight forward with such purpose, wanting to lose these expert thrill seekers and their silly antics.  My first time on intrepid moguls, though somehow I handled fine, then; Whammo, a spill off of a 3.5-foot cliff! Ski's flying and I land onto a semi-travelled road with a touring bus trotting along towards, me at first 20 ft away; inching closer.  Ski's that flew randomly, poles knocked around, me flailing about to gather my things.  I have got to admit I was banged up.  Looking up at my new group of thrill seekers, in good initiation form and fashion, I was in! As I made my way crawling up, ski boots intact; to the top of the cliff.

This gave me a long-standing fear of facing anything remotely ski relating.  Only skiing two more times, then calling it quits on this somehow, glorified sounding sport of disaster.  My fear response became of flight and reasonably, so.  This is what champion Wellness Coach Kim Chomiak helps people with, facing fears from past hurts.  Tapping has been founded and concluded with proper research to play an integral role in the development of an everyday healthy abundant and successful lifestyle. She incorporates the Laws Of Attraction, (a positive frame of energy), with an accomplished type of energy healing therapy called Tapping or otherwise known as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).  This form of healing offers an impact into the heights of a continuous positive after-effect that is enforced through a process of proper training, guided by an accountability partner.  Chomiak's natural and empathetic abilities as a wellness coach offer this.

Kim Chomiak has been extensively trained to help others through her online wellness program. Her coaching has a strong value in offering a positive lift in boosting the healing process and for clients to take action into gaining strength in a safe and nurtured

environment, allowing for a cared for, recovery process.  Her service and program offer a wellness approach, that lends emotional support for guidance, helping those develope proper Tapping Techniques.  Tapping is a learned form of therapy and can be used as a daily practice or as an ongoing habitual practice.  Her programs have been developed for people who may feel stuck, unwell, who may have been burdened with traumas or for those who are carrying triggers from the overload of an overwhelming and consuming stress.  If you have ever wanted to quit smoking, embark on a new journey, or incorporate a new sense or approach in development, Kim has been trained to be an accountable guide for this.  I asked Kim, what do you tell people who are curious about your coaching or want to know what the Law of Attraction and Tapping can do for them?  Her response was;
"I help people to take control of their body and mind in order to get the results they want".

Dr Roger Callahan, circa 1980, was the founder of the first Tapping method and its strong force in healing energies, where his wife furthered his developments after his passing in 2013.  Since Callahan, there is a multitude of Tapping techniques which have been

developed further by well educated and highly skilled professionals. Kim offers her approach that includes many elements of positive occurrence and reflections, eliminating these personal hinderances.  Through this teaching and training, Kim lends care and professionalism as she instructs throughout this process.  It is for those who wish to eliminate poorly engraved, self-limiting beliefs.  Tapping through this in her program gives a positive growth cycle of unlimited potential.

I noticed in Kim that she possesses an urgency for care that is unequivocally undeniable. Her thoughtful approach to coaching is full of encouragement.  She is there as your personal online accountability partner, guiding those through a transformational process, through the practice of daily Tapping, all while overcoming self-limiting beliefs, her program is formatted to help those forge through negative barriers.  Some that may have hindered and limited personal progress, from past life traumas. It allows for a healthy mindset while properly reclaiming ones potential.  Leading with a truly positive and right self-image, an accountable wellness, that can lead to success in many forms.

These traumas may have bound us to them, perhaps creating disease within our bodies and throughout our energy field.  These negative blocks are stored in our subconscious and act as a source of our energy.  Ultimately by Tapping, it balances this energy to a natural state of calm.  It is safe, non-invasive and easy to add to your daily rituals.  A wellness coach can instruct this ongoing process.

Our dearly loved and deeply appreciated soldiers and heroes are and have been taught these Emotional Freedom Techniques when they come home to their country and prior to being reacquainted with their beloved families.  Where life can be lived, allowing for healing while releasing deep-rooted pain and fear.

"Personally, I truly believe that the concept of energy and healing energies is so relevant, also quite powerful".  Energy healing has positive effects not only spiritually and emotionally, also mindfully, physiologically and physically.  Myself, as a certified Reiki practitioner, Hot Stone Therapist, and as well as an Egyptian Reflexologist awarded through the Naturopathic Medical Association, I have been a witness to the miraculous ways that many people have been able to gain in a natural healing, leading with the paradigm of alternative medicine. On our own, we are learning that if we can fuel positive energy through thoughts, beliefs, words and actions, and from the positive forces universally, that with restored faith and a belief, there is healing, Kim can coach client's through this process.

Recently taking Kim's program, I was able to recognize exactly what has been preventing and limiting me from a very certain area of personal growth.  Priorly I felt a lack.  Simply becoming aware of what I could not realise on my own, has been an utter amazement!  Having this new awareness is a true course in recovery.

Kim offers programs such as: "END PROCRASTINATION NOW" "KIDS CAN TAP TOO!"  "RAISE YOUR VIBRATION WITH TAPPING" & "DECLUTTER YOUR LIFE".

I was gladly shown the power of healing through synchronistic energy  "I knew it could not be pure coincidence while speaking with a friend a few weeks back.  She introduced this topic of Tapping through an online group session for healing.  She spoke of how doing this served as such a miracle in her life; restoring her faith, belief and wonder;   While speaking she had asked me to pursue this particular tapping with a course online, from a Tapping coach who lives in Australia.  Then straight out from the mighty Laws Of Attraction and of all the positive wonder, the very next day I meet Kim Chomiak, -a Tapping Coach. who happens to live just a few minutes away from myself.  I was once again struck with the awes of an inspiring message from the universe.  A nice message reminding me that there is a universal light energy and with that, there can be healing, peace, harmony and faith; restored.

Kim Chomiak
"I'd say she has skills!"
"My most favourite thing about Kim and her program is in her non-judgemental approach to inclusiveness.  Kim understands deeply that we are all deserving of peace and healing.  She measures everyone as already successful, already healed and already triumphant.  Having that professional connection is important to me. Without judgement or suspicions of possible poor human nature.  Her undoubtful encouragement is quite remarkable!  Her calming presence and her soothing voice speak of empathy, her acceptance is riveting.  I have begun to notice that Kim may just be my mirror image.  Speaking with her is like listening somehow to myself, for this, I can't help but smile"!

We Busted Out For A Vision

Creating Our Industrious
Vision Boards at
EXIT REALTY
WELCOME HOME BROKERAGE
It was a cold, dark and bleak January evening. Our small town was dull with Christmas behind us, most of us itching for companionship, craving to begin our 2018 new year wishes. I was yearning to connect with my small town tribe. I turned to a page, to an invitation to a night of just that. It was an invitation from Tamara and Larry Culham from EXIT REALTY WELCOME HOME BROKERAGE to spend the evening creating the very enterprising and aspirant Vision Board.  Relief quickly sank in. "Get me out of this house, grab my coat, let's go now!"  Immediately I realised how being cooped up for winter was sapping my spirit.  The Canadian hibernation was real and being invited for a night of cut and paste, crayons and markers, glitter and glue sticks were precisely what the Dr. of cold and drab ordered. The snow on the ground was crisp, the air stung and bit my cheeks as I slipped and slid over to our first annual vision board community event.  I sat down where the people were. I relished in what I saw before me. There were people, my people, they had faces, nice faces, new faces, different faces, faces not covered by dark or buried by heaps of snow.  I became eager to use my crafty tools for creating my vision for 2018.  I picked up my orange colour, childproof preschool scissors meant for recreational nights of cut and paste; my desolation drifted.  I joyfully escaped into my vision board, happily sitting with the other resourceful women.  All of us seemed immersed in the industrious task of the night's activity.  I then heard a voice!

Sitting across from me was my new ally Sandy Philp. As I peeled away the crafters glue stuck from the palm of my hand, Sandy asked what my collaged visions were all about, and what my dreams were?

"Huh?" My desolate tongue still not able to fully speak in complete word format, I shook away the cold of icy isolation. I had to verify that Sandy was speaking to me directly, being cooped up for months as a Canadian, seems to have a tremendous effect on our ability to grasp one on one conversation.  Once I realised that the questions were formed towards my direction, I was able to have my first conversation with a female companion in 2018!

Juice Plus Whole Food Nutrition
My spirit came back to me and as Sandy and I spoke of her dreams and mine, we began a fond friendship.  Sandy told me about her grandkids, her love for them, and how she hoped for their dreams to come true.  Images of her grandkids were pasted everywhere on her vision board.  Sandy explained to me that her grandkids were one of the reasons that she joined Juice Plus, a network marketing company four years ago.  I loved Sandy's stories about her grandchildren, it was endearing to hear such tenderness from a grandmother, the love for them was imminent.  Really though, I was much more enamoured with the reverence that I was actually forming a bond and friendship. My vision for 2018 was set.

I got to know Sandy over the winter of 2018, we spoke many times over social media, we got together for coffee dates sipping chai lattes, we wondered how our lives would change, knowing they already had.  And as many times that we liked and loved each other's posts, our fond friendship grew out of a vision board.  It was the night we busted out of our groundhog existence and joined in the company of new friendly faces.

I asked Sandy more about Juice Plus. I was interested in learning more about her dreams, what inspires her and how the whole food source has helped her and others? As she shares information and education about Juice Plus, its many health benefits, which have no side effects.  Sandy is the first choice as an aid offering educational support to all who are hoping for a life change that offers an increase in better health habits.  Juice Plus bridges the gap of what you should eat, it comes in four bottles, with 32 Fruits, Vegetable, Berries and a new Omega Blend.  She has seen how it helped her husband almost immediately after taking the fruit and vegetable whole food, relieved to see that his blood sugar levels returned to normal.  She watches as her grandkids become better students, eager, alert and ready for school, performing at escalating levels after introducing the healthy chewables into their morning routines, at home and before breakfast.  She sees friends who decide to include this health aid become stronger, more focused with an increased lifestyle nourished with energy. Sandy lends support to those who are not wanting to take pharmaceuticals, she teaches about the many ways that Juice Plus adds to the support of a complete and strong physical health.

I asked Sandy, what changes she and others notice when including Juice Plus into their daily intake of nutrition.  "There nails become stronger, their hair more full, they become more active and involved in life, their allergies are ridden, people are getting better sleep, and their health concerns start to fade."  Sandy explains that she loves helping people with their health concerns, educating them and watching their health return to normal, this is her most valued part of being a Juice Plus Virtual Franchise Owner. It comes in the form of a capsule and as a soft chew available for children.  Each consisting of the proper nutrients that Fruits and Vegetables, Berries and Omegas are packed full of. It is a whole food that is full of essential vitamins and minerals, giving balance and proper nutrition that our lifestyles sometimes won't allow for. For example, the Omega blend supports the broad array of health benefits especially for the heart, the brain, joints, skin and eyes. With 36 researched studies conducted along with Doctors who have been supporting patients in the use of this whole food, offering them more value and support for those who wish for an alternative to health. Doctors are seeing great strides in their patient's health and wellness and are actively responding to those who wish to include Juice Plus as an advantage for an active and well-balanced lifestyle.

For me as the winter snow has melted, with a few chai lattes shared, with many hugs and well wishes of friendship, Sandy has offered me as her ally and aid.  Where she recognizes the value of enriching lives with the benefits of using Juice Plus.  Her vision is to educate and to share her and her families success in health since becoming part of the Juice Plus family.

It was only a week ago, during my morning ritual of connecting, commenting and posting in the usual pages of our social media.  I wrote a "fun" inspired post about my longing to find a journal, but how I was having a difficult time finding an attractive shopping source that would cure my craving to journalise.  In plainer terms, "Our town doesn't have journals for sale..."  Sandy must have read my pleas and during one of our networking meetings of circle and trust, she gently drops a journal placing it quietly on the table in front of me. The notepad was full of space for me to scribble in.  It immediately brought me back to the night where we crawled out of hibernation, to sit with our bustling vision boards, also placed gently on the table before us.

Sandy Philp
"With a vision of health
for her family and friends"
We had a great time that night creating our vision with glitter and glue and our handy, yet practical preschool child-proof scissors. Where at that meeting what we created was far more than a dream car, what we mastered that night was a lasting and true friendship infused with the satisfaction of complete companionship.  What happened that night in the bleak and the dull of the winter, was two women busting out, forming a bond! Where that bond was perhaps and in fact our vision.  Sandy leaves an imprint of trust in health and wellness, she is truly empathic and a friend who cares. One who will be an ally and aid on your journey of all that you envision.  With the help of Juice Plus and the lofty creation of our vision boards, Sandy is one who I would consider an antidote to health, happiness and in the joy of friendship.

Envision Your Dream & Believe

Many or perhaps some of you may know a bit about my history, a children's author and poet and now a new mom with a young boy turning three. Wow, I can't believe that he's growing so quickly -too quickly! My journey to health has so many components to it, a journey of many obstacles, climbing over hurdles and so much evolving along the way. In terms of health, especially emotional health, in my twenties, I was diagnosed with Bipolar, something I knew nothing about. I was full of fear, anxiety, I was horrified and devastated. I was 21, my first years as an early adult. It felt more like an initiation and cruel joke, then a welcoming of my right of passage. Years were spent trying to get by, with many pitfalls and many nights full of tears on my pillow. I was just sad! My cruel joke though turned into my best ally and I was proud to use the writing skills that I gained through many years of therapeutic journaling to create my first book Before You Were Born. I was walking the walk and talking the talk. This book turned my life of many setbacks into a life full of wonder, with book signings, newspaper and radio interviews, speaking at high schools, reading at libraries.  I was happy again. I was able to reach out and others reached out to me.  I gladly said goodbye to that sad 21-year-old girl full of fear and said hello to a new life, embracing my new love for living, I gained my strength and was fearless, healthy and awake!

With the books and with a healthy mindset, my physical life on track, a lifted self-esteem, and living my life on purpose, I was blessed with a baby boy, just like my character Mommy Frog did, five years prior. The vision that I held of having a Son one day, possibly through the eyes of Mommy Frog, was so strong, I believed in it so much, my vision was so concrete, that somehow through this book, I was able to finally at the age of 39 have my firstborn healthy baby boy! That book lead to many years of gaining a vision that was purely magical! Mommy Frog from Before You Were Born, had that same vision in 2010 she wanted to hold her Son, to tell him a story of hope, and healing.  This does prove to me that what you think about, You Bring About. What you believe and think and how you react or take action, does have a way of showing up in your life, it shows me that miracles do happen, they are everywhere and for everyone.  I really had no clue when writing this book that the story would come so alive. That I would live out the story of my character Mommy Frog, and have my biggest wish, my most loving dream come true. Had I known, I may have added a few things to the book, like riches and gold and silver. I am rich with love and tenderness for my young boy and my family.

I am the richest woman in the world being able to do things I never thought possible, even going to a nearby park is the best most gratifying and abundant feeling ever! It is magical to know that anyone's intention and vision can come alive and that what is true in your heart can be sincerely manifested. That anything in life can happen. Mommy Frog had her Son in 2010 and learning from my favourite character, I too had my sweet little angel only five years later. I did not write about gold, or silver or finding a chest of treasures. Though, having a Son, I feel enriched from the core. Dreams do come alive, your dream, our dream, his dream and her dream. Dream Big because your life can be exactly as you envision it. If Mommy Frog and I can do it, surely anyone can! My story and my life, my dream of my little boy truly came alive!

A Positive No

You're about to sit down with a friend for lunch. Your enthusiasm for the lunch date excites you.
You're smiling, ready to have a nice chat, catch up on life and speak about the old days. Then they say it. Never, No, Can't. Your once exuberant self-slides to a slight bleak. Your smile fades, your eyes look and feel drawn, your energy has been taken over. You cross your arms in front of you, you want to block this form of "naysayer obligation". You really do not want any part of it. You wanted to hear how good there week has been, how wonderful they are feeling, how life for them has been grand. Though, the outpour of no, never and can't is being slashed across the table like a spaghetti food fight. You want to change the subject of can't to a can of no to a yes and of never to will. These conversations drain you, they leave a feeling of drab and it reaks of toxic energy.

You try to interrupt to change the conversation, something trivial, yet inspiring, something enlightening, something that will fade the dark comments into something uplifting. We've all been there and on both sides of the conversations. There have been many days when my mood has struck out to dampen someone's day, spoil the mood and leave a feeling of harsh energy. We have all had moments of despair when trivial matters that burden our hearts make them heavy and almost empty, where nothing in life is joyful. We have all been on each side of this conversation, the ones of yes and I can and I will and the ones of no and can't and never. How then do we change this back and forth action being caught between yes and no limbo? How do we start believing even in the face of darkness, when nothing seems right in our world? How do we get from a dark cloud to a cloud with a silver lining? Or even from a storm to calm waters?

I would have to say practice. When I mean practice, as some may laugh, I mean; pay attention to your
words, how do they make you feel? What words that are spoken from your lips or others, makes you feel toxic? How are your thoughts of no, can't and never holding you back. What does your energy feel like when speaking in this way.  What if you thought yes, I can and I will every single second? How would your day go, how would our week go and how would your lunch date go? Probably a lot better, most likely you and your lunch date would have a really fantastic time, maybe even that person would ask to go out with you for lunch again.

It does take practice, as thoughts turn into words and words turn into our actions. That is every thought, every word and every single day, from the moment you wake, to when you turn out your bedroom light. Now, of course, there are many times we have to say no when we don't want to do something, there are many many times that saying no is called for. Many times we need to say that we really can't possibly do this or that, and for many good reasons. Or other times when you would never babysit for that kid again, never ever again!
We do have our boundaries and we do have our free will and our many preferences. Though saying No, to something that is in your heart and soul to say no to is actually a yes and a blessing in disguise. There are many times throughout our lives when we really need to listen to our gut, our instincts our soul, give thought to our morals and our beliefs and just because Sandy and Tracy are doing it, doesn't mean you have to. Saying No many times is actually saying YES and opening the doors to new awareness, better opportunities, abundance and fulfilment. Saying NO actually is saying YES!
Saying I can't or I would never do something that doesn't sit well in your heart or the pit of your stomach is actually saying yes to the life that you are meant to live and meant to thrive in. Saying no means in many cases a positive yes and a win for you, possibly others. Listening to your heart when someone speaks in negative terms, simply say; "Let's change the subject to something more light and breezy". Or even I'm not very comfortable speaking this way. You are saying no, for a positive yes.

Let's say Charlie is a marathon runner and he really wants to finish this marathon in record timing. He's been training for months, he really wants to hit his mark and cross that finish line. The marathon is on Saturday morning and he's been training hard. On Thursday Jeff, wants to go out to a party to have some fun, he asks Charlie to go out with him, knowing that drinks will be flying around the table, it will be a
late night and he would be feeling sluggish for the day of the marathon. Charlie then has to think about his answer yes or no. He really doesn't want to let Jeff down because he was his best man last year at his wedding, though he really wants to get his rest so that he can cross that finish line. He knows he will have a blast with Jeff, they always have the greatest nights, usually ending at 5 am. Saying no to Jeff is saying yes to himself. He knows in his heart and soul that he wants to cross that finish line. He also knows that just one late night of drinking can throw him off his course and objective. So the question is does he believe in himself, does he have self-worth, does he love himself and does he want to give himself the opportunity to succeed? And the answer to that is always YES I CAN and I WILL.

Authentic Enough

Only a precious few of our closest relatives truly know our story.  Climbing the ladder of creativity together with my partner Jay, living the long but true tale coupled with the journey of the starving artists.  It's not for everyone, It's a category all of its own. As on some days, we may not have been able to eat very much, in those days behind closed doors our love was established.  Where money rather spent on art, would most times outweigh a decent sized sandwich. We have always had art brushes, papers and pens, markers, a guitar and a keyboard. We had old broken down computers, gently refurbished smartly by our family members, to date we have owned about 7. Behind closed doors, from years past, there have been many days where even eating Kraft Dinner, Mr Noodles or Peanut Butter was near impossible. The times when we were lavished with food, we coined it Gourmet Kraft Dinner which includes beef, onions and garlic powder. We found out that seasoned pancake mix makes for an excellent fish batter and that syrup can be used in a large number of ways and is quite tasty. That's really thinking outside the pancake box. For many years gone past, water with salt and whatever else we could create as hearty food would be purely meant for survival.  Our friends through social media would never know.  Behind closed doors, it was our biggest and most well kept, well-hidden secret! We knew that by banding together in this way, our love and our creativity would grow and perhaps one day, fulfil our dreams and flourish our hearts.

Lettuce soup was one meal that Jay created, it actually became quite tasty and favoured, though only behind closed doors. It's not like we could or would snap a picture of Jay's creation to post on Facebook. In other news, I have had episodes of bipolar mania, due to me having this rather glorious illness.  I've heard comments, people saying to me about others they know who have bipolar; they say, "Oh you know that girl, stay away from her, she's crazy, she has bipolar, she's awful." Little do they know sitting before them is that girl filled to the brim with bipolar.  Sometimes I tell them I have bipolar, friendships just don't last very long. There have been times way before social media and prior in many attempts in mental health awareness where I've shown up for work in an awful state of hypomania, (What is that?) Many times depression; rather embarrassing! Jay too has had his share of the taboo illness.  Growing up and then becoming a man, he never realised that he had any such thing until professionally treated and diagnosed. The many days where I either slept 18 hours for months at a time, either that or was up for a count of 8 days trying to rid myself of medication that was keeping me from becoming a Mom.
"Captivating picture of what Bipolar looks like"

What is the purpose though, of me dishing out this "dirt" that happens behind closed doors?  You Guessed It! You never truly know what another person is going through... Images on social media highlight our best moments and memories, our most courageous undertakings, our love for life, family and friends and our many accomplishments.  The year we ate "bland food" did not make the cut in our media. Having a breakdown or bouts of depression did not spark Jays urge to bring out the camera in celebration. When walking down the street, on a bus, in an elevator, at a game, in the gym, during a meeting, working, riding a bike, at a park, out fishing or anywhere. You nor I really have no complete understanding what it took for someone to just get out of bed and to show up.  What though, if someone's clothes are ripped and torn and not in a designer fashioned way? What if someone makes a spelling mistake that is so ridiculous, "They don't even know how to spell, they have no right even to comment." Does this create mocking, teasing, snickering and put-downs, even as personal thoughts?  Could it sadly be that it may be all that person has to wear?  Or that person who has spelling issues, was too busy while commenting to notice a gravely mistaken misspell?

We are all living and feeling beings, where ill judgement is a choice that can be easily dismissed. Graciously knowing that for someone having to do just about anything to get through the day, that has been, for them unbearable, because in reality, the night before they wanted to end it. It's someone who gets your order wrong while grabbing takeout, we cause a fuss, where they may be having just a really bad day, perhaps we are the one having a bad day making such a fuss? It's someone who has been up all night, someone who just lost their pet, someone's feet getting wet from the Canadian winter snow causing them to become mildly disgruntled at work.  Though these moments of "damning bliss" are never really captured for all to see and are not celebrated through social media?

No way, we hide it, we shy away from it. What will people think if I take a picture while my hydro is being turned off? We can not ever really be honest because possibly we want people to like us. "How could they possibly, if they can't see my bright smile in a flattering light?  Do we then as human beings really have the capacity to be "OHH so Authentic?"

The struggles that I mentioned casing what went on behind our closed doors, were not examples of our life's best moments, to then share them on our "OH SO Friendly" social media pages, where bullying is a thing! We had to think better of introducing new boiled salad and syrup recipes.  Four months of my life I hadn't a home, call it homelessness or short-term homelessness. That may be more socially acceptable? I don't remember during that time bringing out
my camera, sitting up straight and tilting to capture the mood of the moment. Possibly though I didn't own a camera. In days prior, Jay and I spent a lot of time travelling to our families home to pick up a bit of food, very often people would see Jay and I walking together; though yelling at one another, being hungry- flapping our arms in the air, even using forbidden curse words. Where some have relayed to me that they didn't believe that we were really in love. Though, behind closed doors and once fed, when no one is looking, there is always an incredible amount of deep love and affection. Could we be so pro authentic to relay our hunger on our travels to a post? Or would a post about our deep love be quite acceptable, I posted the favourable moments instead.  Truly one never knows what others are actually burdened with. To treat everyone in kind should be the only authentic truth. Lately, people have been saying to me, "I Love how you try to do all these things"  Which is a very nice, positive remark from some lenses. Though, honestly, I am just wanting to continue to eat a lot of food.

Through the years, as artists, Jay and I grew a strong survival instinct. Eating lettuce soup, with a squirt of syrup will sometimes do that to a couple. Sadly we've learnt to hide our love now, just as we hid our hunger. It served us well as a wonderful survival tactic.  Still, behind closed doors our love is strong and pure, for me, it still feels very much brand new.  Every step yelling through town our bond reached further. We've said goodbye to those drabby days of misusing syrup.

Proudly, presently we have a fresh can of English Toffee Cappuccino, OH LA LA, look how far!
It's a heavenly delight where celebrating with the snap of a camera capturing this moment I suppose with a cute selfie and the rich tasting drink. Doing some regular thing like cleaning my floors in high heels? Then people will see that I am really really wonderful, though not purely authentic.  I would much better like to bust the myth portrayed perfectly on media pages; give people who are struggling with real-time problems a vantage point.  Where authentically radiating positivity takes time and space. Where being authentic has only one meaning; acceptance. Found only in what is true and yet uniquely honest, in all of us.  Where perfect genuine human nature can never really be judged, though is felt in the quiet moments, behind doors and in our hearts.

A Young Living Alternative

Tina Diblasi is a Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO) independent executive and business consultant who enriches people's lives with her brand of Essential Oils. She also cares for and nurtures her family and friends as well as her pets with the oils, infused with healing agents that promote and support strong health, energy, well being and vitality. Tina has been highly educated and well trained in the many everyday uses of the Young Living Essential Oils brand. She thrives on helping others who want to feel abundantly healthy, with more energy, less stress, with care and healing that permits recovery.

YLEO is a networking media company that offers anyone the opportunity to become a YLEO business consultant. Tina is a true nature and animal lover. Visiting her beautiful home last week, I got to meet all of her animals, including a chicken coup holding a flock of chickens that she lovingly refers to as her pets. After a long day, she sits with her three dogs, giving the care to help Luna feel a sense of calm, by massaging her with an essential oil for nervousness.

Visiting her home that day, her granddaughter felt as though she was falling sick. You know that awful achy feeling we all get at the onset of a cold and fever. Tina immediately brought out her oils, kneeled down to then rub her grandchild's feet, immersing them in oils that would enhance her recovery from common cold symptoms.

I was meeting Tina for coffee, when she learned of my chronic knee pain, she offered me relief using her oils. I rubbed it in listening intently to her instruction of proper application.  Later that night I found that there truly was a huge difference in the level of pain I was in. I was able to move and do things without the pain and discomfort that I usually endured. Surprisingly, for the next week, I was able to walk with ease, decorate my house for Christmas, I even attended a Burlesque class I’ve been wanting to join. My knee pain comes and goes, though using YLEO I have confidence that the pain won’t last long and I can get back to all the activities I look forward to. Today I am going skating with my two and a half-year-old boy, it will be his first time. Applying the oils to my knee prior, I am sure I will be able to enjoy our winter outing.

Tina explains; “These products work, they do so much to promote health and healing, giving a boost in energy and vitality” Tina explained, “The oils I use are enriched with so many healing properties if used correctly they could have a profound and lasting effect." Tina has found her calling and passion in life. Helping to support her family and friends to take care of their health is all the gain that she needs. Tina enjoys helping others who want to create a lifestyle that promotes a non-toxic environment, consulting for Young Living Essential Oils, sharing in wellness, that has helped many, knowing that they have a seed to seal guarantee and a backing of many lab testing to ensure a complete 100% pure natural oil.

Her mission is to sense the effects of well-being after using all of the YLEO oils, equipped with vitamins and supplements, oils and cleaning aids, beauty products for men and women. Her hair came out feeling soft and manageable, garnished with a silky and hydrating moisture. She tastes the refreshing taste that gives stimulating energy after adding Lemon oil to her water. She begins using the YLEO vitamins and supplements, sensing an intense peak in her energy level. Tina admits she was completely hooked on glass cleaner as her main cleaning agent. Though after feeling abundantly well, she knows her families health is in good hands. Deciding to toss out all of her regular cleaning aids that were consumed with harsh chemicals. Her home is now endowed with essential oils that stimulate healthy living and wellness. Young Living Essential Oils are the only oils that have been approved by Health Canada. It is a great product that can be used for anything and everything, every day. Tina loves finding new uses for her oils, she is planning to make creams and lotions fortified with all of the goodness found in her oils.

After learning about the onset of her father falling ill. Tina knew her essential oils would promote a happy and healthy outcome aiding in his recovery. Tina’s daughter who is a Young Living Essential Oil Silver, spent weeks applying the oils to her grandfather. Gladly, he is doing much better and the oils played a big role in regaining his health. Assured of the impact that these oils have had on her friends and families health. Tina wishes to help others enjoy the same benefits that Young Living offers, hoping that one day every household will utilize these products, receiving the same health gains and enriching lives. Grace Giummarra Andrecchi is an associate of Tina’s and a Young Living Essential Oils business consultant.  She says; “I love Tina’s energy, she is always there for me when I need information about Young Living, she is an amazing person, a true blessing!”

Tina tells me of a time when a friends baby was congested, her friend called her in a panic. Tina was able to guide her friend, suggesting the appropriate use administering the oils, she massaged her baby and followed Tina's instructions. Not too long after the mother was relieved when she noticed a peak in her babies health. Tina makes a point to set timeout every day to reach out to her associates, mentoring them while making sure they are on track for their YLEO activities and meeting their business and/or personal goals.

Tina is thriving in her pursuits to help her friends and family enjoy the same health advantages that she has experienced through Young Living, where over her first year in business she has become a highly rated YLEO executive, selling her first five boxes, immediately after her first YLEO product meeting. She gives hope to those who are wanting an alternative to normal health practices. Guiding those in establishing healthy habits, encouraging others on their journey to get the most out of living a happy, vibrant and fulfilled life, with the care of Young Living Essential Oils.
