Kiss In Your Eye 2017 Tamara Thompson
Basking in the glory of a watchful eye,
gaining no prisoners or angels from the sky,
desert lightning,
landing hard and strong,
pesky prisoners shackled away,
You're a friend of mine,
You’re no friend of mine.
Leading a wicked herd,
you catch a kiss in your eye,
Piercing shocks wake you,
tight breaths hold you,
Eyebrows then raise you,
scowling smirks cast you,
reeling you-
eyes roll back scolding you,
missing a kiss in your eye.
Gasping with displeasure, there’s no glow,
The measuring tape wraps around your thigh,
your waist, your shoulders and bust.
In distaste, we speak of pale winter shades,
is our too hair long, is it kept well and neat?
In measure's we add,
we giggle, to lighten the mood of the misused.
Eyes dagger, stinging like lightning-
A kiss in your eye, too impossible to measure.
Turndowns, put-downs, put-ups, somehow slightly stuck up-
Pretending to be better or worse.
The curses?
-Only simple mockups.
Holding happy hearts,
Bluntly;
someone asks about life?
"Actually life is great, dreams have come true
there is room for me and you".
Someone shines in...
"How dare you chase a dream,
follow your heart, live your dreams as you do!
there must be something wrong with you,
who the hell are you?
Feelings are sweeter now,
There is a moment of cheap thrill.
Dreams of free will, a good reason to live,
"Why not dream then,
A woman with a dream,
And a piercing kiss in her eye,
With dreams, she touches the earth-
the same time she ignites the sky!
